SWLA’s Concerns Raised in Parliament by Rebecca Smith MP

Rebecca calls for a 12-month review of new renting legislation to prevent a mass landlord exodus.

Rebecca explained that the Renters’ Rights Bill will have unintended negative consequences within the Private Rented Sector. Landlords’ confidence is low, some landlords are selling up. With a shrinking Private Rented Sector, many tenants will struggle to find suitable housing, those most affected will likely be the most vulnerable people.

The Government need to achieve a fair balance of renters’ rights and landlords’ rights.

A huge thanks to Rebecca for taking our concerns forward and making an impact in the discussions.
