South West Landlords Association, formerly known as Devon and Cornwall Small Landlords Association was formed in Plymouth over 30 years ago by a group of enthusiastic residential landlords.
Since its formation the name and demographics have changed but the enthusiasm of its elected committee have not.
With their own offices and staff in Plymouth, SWLA has attracted members nationwide by offering advice, documentation, training and support.
The Association represents members at local and regional levels and has representation with central government agencies.
With the increasing legislative burden on landlords, SWLA believes it is imperative to belong to a trade body to keep ahead of the fast changing environment of the Private Rental Sector.
Joining SWLA is a first step and all members are actively encouraged to become accredited landlords under the West of England Rental Standard via Landlord Accreditation South West sponsorship.
We believe that management standards, housing standards and tenants living conditions can all be improved by comprehensive training and the understanding of landlord’s obligations and responsibilities.
